The stock of a product is passed on via:
- the product feed
- the shopitem api
The feed is picked up every two hours to check whether stock numbers have changed.
The stock quantity is forwarded to the shopitem api at the initiative of the websop. These updates are immediately processed in our database and are overruling over the information in the feed for 24 hours.
This value, provided that it is greater than 0, is used real time in the checkout of the beslistshopping cart to indicate whether the quantity that is ordered still falls within the current stock, and whether the indicated delivery time can therefore still be guaranteed.
Stock 0, delivery time, and display
The value 0 does not automatically mean that the product is no longer visible on beslist.nl or can no longer be ordered. This is a conscious choice. For example, shops without stock information (eg drop shipping companies) and shops that can accept back or pre-orders can still also use beslist.nl.
The display is primarily driven by the display column. And also the delivery time values 'unknown' or 'not in stock' cause that the product is no longer displayed and can be ordered.
As long as a product has '1' display and there is a valid delivery time value, a product will be displayed regardless of the stock value.
